star trek lower decks (s1 e1)

boimler and mariner - command

basically zombie outbreak aboard the ship. ransom (first officer) is bitten by something when they went down the planet galardon for their second contact with the galardonians.
boimler is tasked by the captain to report mariner if ever she breaks protocol. revealed later that captain carol is mariner’s mom (her dad is admiral alonzo freeman.) something about taking mariner back to another ship (uss quito) since mariner kept undermining her in front of the others. they couldn’t work together!
anyway boimler in galardon, he notices mariner looking sketchy. she is talking to some locals etc. boimler immediately assumes she is doing something illegal, like giving out weapons. he confronts her, turns out she was giving farm equipments. and then boimler gets suckled by a spider-like creature. at the end of the whole debacle, boimler is covered with slime from the creature. this slime cures the zombified crew.
(also um rutherford had a failed date with ensign barnes. she wasn’t really interested in learning why a red alert overrode the maintenance hatch access protocols.)
